Owned and operated by Erika since summer 2013, Playful Paws USA is a hardworking, honest, reliable, friendly, professional, and well-trained team of dog walkers, pet sitters and groomers ready to make your pets part of our family. Our pet care providers are insured, bonded, and undergo a background check before starting any service. In fact, we only hire 10% of the candidates we interview – from trainers to assist with puppy training to vet technicians ready to check your pet’s nails.

I’ve been bringing my large German Shepherd mix here for the last couple of months for grooming and I had to write a review because this is, by far, the best groomer we’ve ever brought our dog to. They are extremely friendly and easy to communicate with – from the first time you call – to the time we pick up our dog. We have an 80lb dog with A LOT of hair and we know he isn’t an easy dog to groom, but he always comes out looking great and they always say how great of a dog he is. It was also nice to find a groomer that doesn’t break the bank! So happy we found them!

I’m quite pleased with the service I receive from Playful Paws and my professional dogwalker Will. I was a pro dogwalker myself in Hoboken for years. I have pretty high standards when it comes to trusting someone else with my own dog on the streets of Hoboken where there’s a lot of paw and street traffic. But I know that my dog is in excellent hands with Will! My dog gets the consistent exercise, socialization, rewards and discipline as needed during his adventures with Will. Will you keep in touch with me while I'm away so I know my pet is okay?
Of course!! Our walkers & sitters will check in with you as often as you would like. Our boarders can send you daily pictures while you are away and our walkers can leave personalized notes or send you a text/email letting you know how your pups walk went! On longer stays we can even Skype or Facetime if you want to have a chat to your furry family member. We also offer GPS check in services so that you can see exactly what time your walker came and left your home.
Will the person be walking or watching my dog?
During your initial consultation, you will meet with a primary walker/sitter. If you are delighted with the consultation (and we know you will be!) then the walker/sitter met during your consultation will be your daily walker or primary sitter. Sometimes we get sick or need a vacation day, so for those rare days, one of our other qualified walkers/sitters will be your fill-in.
What's this GPS service all about?
We use a proprietary system called Pet Check Technology™ which uses mobile bar code technology to track when and where your pup was walked. Clients will receive an optional email upon your walkers arrival and departure letting you know when and where your pup was walked. The email includes pictures, a short note letting you know how the walk went and a map of the route taken on the walk! Pet Check Technology™ also allows for online billing and scheduling. There is no additional monthly cost to use this service. New clients are responsible for a small, one time bar code activation fee. Call or email us to learn more!
Are you a bonded, insured and government registered company?
YES!! All of our sitters are bonded and insured. We even perform a background check on everyone we hire. We are confident that we have the best team out there!
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that things happen, just let us know that your plans have changed by 7pm the night before your service and there is no charge! Same day cancellations will incur the full walk price.

How will I pay you?
We accept cash, check, Discover card, Mastercard, & Visa. You can choose to pay Playful Paws USA by service or receive a biweekly or monthly invoice. Please note that at this time we do not accept American Express.

Our prices are listed under each of our service descriptions. Puppies receive discounted pricing up to 6 months.
Day Care
Day Care is available 5 days a week Monday through Friday (730am to 6pm)
6-7pm pick up time is available for an additional $5.
Half Day: $30 (4-5 hours)
Full Day: $40
A walk to and from daycare can be provided for an additional $15 each way.
Monthly packages can be purchased to bring the costs down .
All owners are required to do a half day assessment and supply written proof of current vaccines. Required vaccines are: Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, and Bordetella.
Pet Sitting
We have sitters ready to be your dog’s home away from home. From dinner time to play time to bath time; your pets will feel like they are part of the family.
DUE TO HEAVY DEMAND, AT THIS TIME IN-HOME BOARDING IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR OUR DOG WALKING CLIENTS.
In your home or ours: $69 per night
(an hourly rate applies to pickup after noon on the last day of boarding)
Cat Visits
A Playful Paws USA cat visits typically last 30-60 minutes and includes feeding, litter removal and of course lots of love. Does your cat have a favorite toy or need to be brushed regularly, no problem, we will make your cat feel like they are on vacation and begging for meow.
30 minutes: $17
60 minutes: $27
Stopovers / Visits
Sometime dogs, like ourselves, prefer the comfort of their own homes. If you will be away for extended period of time and prefer us to visit your pet at home, we will set up visits every couple of hours until your return. We will include walks and feedings, of course!

10-minute potty break: $15
20-minute walk: $20
30-minute walk price: $23

60-minute walk or bark in the park: $32
A $10 sub charge is adding to walks after 630pm and on the weekends. Please have your weekend walk requests in by 12pm on the Friday of the desired weekend.
Walks on federal holidays are subject to a $10 additional charge
A Bark in the Park
Is your dog a social butterfly? Do they need a bit more practice being around other dogs? Our animal lovers will pick your pup up along with other dogs of similar size and temperament and take them for a full 1 hr playtime ($27) in your local dog park. Our experience and watchful eye will ensure that your dog is safe and happy while getting love from other dogs and their human alike.
